Huge thanks to Yasmeen, James and Dan for giving life to There was no stopping us until the rain came down at Theatre503 last month.
They really found the heart of the piece and we got some very warm responses from the audience. As always it was a thrill to be working with the team at Theatre503, who are so supportive of new writing.
To celebrate I’ve added one of my previous Rapid Write Response plays, Sixteen, to the Plays section of this site. Take a look and let me know what you think.

We had a lovely start to the month with a very warm response to Sixteen at Theatre 503. Thanks to Phyllis and Leona for bringing Gladys and Shanice so memorably to life, and to Andrew for directing the play with such a deft touch.
I’ve found both of the recent Rapid Write Response plays hugely enjoyable and helpful to my development as a writer. With Polythene I could have fun exploring all angles of a three-way power struggle against the backdrop of the worst morning-after-the-night-before ever. While Sixteen was a much more delicate and uplifting piece, containing both the oldest and the youngest characters I’ve written so far.
Meanwhile I’ve been scribbling away on new projects, with a couple of longer plays in the pipeline and a new film script. Hopefully more news on those soon!
